Looking at designing and building a DLP machine and happened upon someone local selling a "low hour" Acer H6510BD for $475. I honestly haven't done enough research on these machines yet to fully form an opinion, but don't want a good deal to pass by. Thinking of offering $400 or $425...should I jump on this deal?

I got mine on Black Friday from Newegg for $500, then they had a coupon like 3 days later (within their price guarantee window) for $50 back. I talked to support and they gave me a $50 Newegg credit, making my total about $450. I wouldn't buy a used one for $475, but if it truly has low hours $400 would be a pretty solid deal IMHO.

Greetings;

Here is an E-bay listing link to, Vivitek 557 DPL projector; quite inexpensive replacement lamps and good for easy modifications.

Thanks, but I am really only interested in 1080p projectors. I'm really going for the 50 micron x/y detail level of quality and want the biggest prints possible (within a reasonable budget) with this level of detail. From what I have read so far it seems like using a 1920x1080 resolution projector is the only really good way to achieve this.
