Hi goopyplastic,
thanks for the hint - I am sorry that you got deleted - but in my eyes the action was the only possibility to somewhat be ahead of the spammers, and that was well worth the risk, to kick a real user out.
Just again I had to delete 11 users, at least 9 of them had a clear Spam-profile, just waiting to start to SPAM the forum
(usually spambots wait a few weeks after creation of the account, before the actual spamming starts.)
@johnrpm: the spammers to it to post links to their own websites or to websites of their clients - if it's not to get some traffic, then it's for Search Engine Manipulation, to increase Search Engine Ranking.
A Spammer does not necessarily has to post Spam in terms of weird posts with link. Also an inactive profile with a bad link in it, in the field "website" is a bad reputation for this forum in the eyes of search engines.
So two good reasons to keep this forum clean:
1 - It'll be a better place for us users
2 - It'll be a well ranked site, if it is kept free of bad links to gambling, porn, credit card or whatever websites that are not at all related to "build your own SLA"
