Hey guys,
Please check out this lead nut block for top down sla printer.. It is used for M8 lead screw.. This part can be 3d printed.
Will this work? or any design changes required...It is used for Top down sla printer...

Re: Lead nut mounting
google "anti backlash nut". spring is the key.

Re: Lead nut mounting
To put this in prospective for you, there is no means of insuring on first setup that you will get or keep a tight fit of the two nuts against the drive screw with the example you have posted. Any play at all between these two nuts and your z axis is shot. There needs to be a spring between the two nuts to keep them taut against the drive screw. The spring will guarantee that the two nut will remain taut as both the threads on the nuts and drive screw ware thru use.

Re: Lead nut mounting
my english is very basic and dont understand exactly your sentences, but simplifying, two nuts with a spring in the middle is the best way to reduce play and increase precision and repeatabilty. You want this in your z axis.

Re: Lead nut mounting
I can see where your design might work, but will caution you on 2 possible points of concern. First, the nuts need to be free enough that they don't bind in your fitting. The second is that they can't have any play in the mounting where they would move. Let me try to put that a little plainer. If the nut is too snug in its seat, it won't do what you want. If it is too loose in its seat, it will move a fraction when the stepper motor changes direction and throw your z off. Been there, done that.

Re: Lead nut mounting
Secure one nut so it does not move in the z direction at all and no rotation. Allow the second nut to move in the z direction but no rotation.

Re: Lead nut mounting
Make sure your 'top' nut is press-fit or otherwise cannot come out of its holder.
Now you will need a mechanism to attach your nut assembly so it only moves in the z direction (linear slide, etc). As you have it now it will just rotate on the shaft until the build platform hits something. Also your shaft coupler will allow the shaft to spring up and down unless you have a rigid mount on the other end of the shaft (out of the picture?).
