Print Tests, SubG+ Heavy earthquake sculpture

Hi all, heres a test from my new DIY Top down DLP build. Spent the weekend playing with settings and this is about the best I've got so far. It seems like things are overcuring, lots of details are dissappearing, but not too bad! The size of this guy is about 1.2" tall

I am using an Acer H6510BD projector

at 50 micron z and 3 seconds cure time, + 2 seconds wait for resin to settle and .5mm layer reset movement.

Any tips on getting more detail?

I've tried using less curing time but from 1-2 seconds, layers start to separate. I've read adding more pigment will help, is there a generic cheapo place to get these pigments?

Thanks, Vaughan

PS, this model comes with Zbrush

I also spent most of the weekend trying to get 50 microns on SubG+ resin. From what I can tell, there just isn't enough pigment in the resin to get that fine of detail. Brad Hill from LittleRP confirmed this for me. I was down to 500ms curing times, and there was still light bleed-through into previous layers. One thing I haven't tried yet is lowering the brightness of the projector, and increasing the exposure time.

Dang...well good to know I'm not crazy. Thanks a bunch for the software...such a joy to use! I'll be donating soon :)

I am now waiting for Josh to complete developing his castable resin (been in contact with him about this for the past month). Hope that he will come up with an excellent castable product.

@Steve: you used 500ms curing time and still see bleed through? How fast is the resin, really?
I will be using a Benq CP220 (XGA, 190watt power), and would like to print at 50microns with SG+, and at 25microns with his castable resin. I sure hope that I will not encounter this similar problem. Especially with the castable resin, which I plan to use to capture some really fine details to produce models to be processed with lost-wax casting.

I need to know how to make my donation by bank transfer/Western Union, can someone tell me how?

Some more tests using Funtodo resin @50micron z, which has been much more forgiving than SubG+

Agreed with all on with 50 micron being to much of a hassle out of subG+.

I have order some funtodo industrial and will not print again until it arrives.

Also with the top down I noticed it is all about having a level build plate. Wasted hours with problems from this. Much more forgiving when supports are used to get away from the build plate and start wider slices.

Agreed...I've been using a clip to hold my build platform in place which is nice for easy removal but sucks to align each time

Does anyone have tips on how to get the down facing sides looking smoother/ more detailed? Right now everything facing down looks very lumpy due to many supports
