Laser SLA Building Help Needed (1)

Postby mrelhashemy » Sun Oct 11, 2015 1:42 pm

Hello everyone,

I'm building a Laser SLA 3D Printer using Lasershark+20kpps Galvo and Ramps+ Arduino Mega 2560 and of course Creation Workshop Software.

Firstly I wired ramps with arduino mega and two stepper motors one for Z and one for X for slide tilting mechanism.

I compiled sprinter firmware with no editing and ran CW and I found noticed issues:

1- the motion of the tilting motor wasn't normal, it was much like reciprocating motion, unlike Z motor.. the picture shows

2- the tilting motor was getting very hot, also unlike the Z motor

I tried to copy Z axis values in firmware and paste it to X axis values but nothing changed, I changed wires and tried other stepper motors and it's the same.

Can anyone tell me what is the reason of this problem? how can I fix that?

Best Regards,
Mohamed

A couple of things to check:
1. Are the wires going to the stepper in the correct order?

2. You may have the steps to high. This is likely because you have the jumpers for microstepping on the driver set incorrectly. If you're using microstepping, check the jumper settings in the following:

You probably want some of the jumpers installed, depending on the driver.

Good luck
