FEP selection and usage

Hi everyone,
I wanted to use FEP and I had some questions here:
1-What is the best thickness of FEP?
2-What kind of FEPs do we have, I read in forums about adhesive back ones, are they similar to tape glues?
3-I've seen a machine using FEP which doesn't have any adhesive side, and they also use a transparent sheet between the FEP and the glass, does anyone know what that sheet is exactly and what material it is?
