Re: Daylight Polymer 3D Printer
Put some of the resin on my 10" tablet that runs my CNC machine and definitely had cured resin in 30s. Seemed to cure faster in the thicker parts so in a vat with a platform it might cure a bit quicker

Hi nc42,
that is great news, could you tell us what tablet that is.. we could lookup the specs on it.. for example the max brightness setting it has..
this article mentions the smartphones with the brightest display .
looks like Motorola moto x pure edition comes out as the big winner
cheers,
hp

Nothing fancy and having a quick look I didn't see any real specs and for a budget tablet wouldn't expect any.
Found a site that measured it at 293 cd/m²

Also found a site that puts the ipad3 at 477cd/m2 s we might be in business. If I had a mini DP to DP cable I could find out....

Re: Daylight Polymer 3D Printer
After thinking a little more about the display teardown , i decided to find a solution to keep the original backlight functional so i could use it to display red calibration grids or simulate printing ( with red color ) without firing the 50W LED array ...
so I decided to cut the metal backing of the display ... ( yes i'm crazy .. .) ,
here's the result:

Very cool and good idea! Looks bright and evenly lit.
