Moving the projector on X & Y for higher resolution and bigger object

Did anyone try to 3D print with a DLP projector a large piece by moving the projector in X and/or Y for each slice?
I imagine using this method will take a long time to 3D print, but if you are using a low resolution projector, you can focus the beam in a small area, for high resolution, then move the projector in a grid pattern for bigger objects. This will take a long time, but much cheaper than having a high resolution projector.
Or.... did anyone try to put 2 (or more) projectors side by side, to print one object at the same time?
I can't afford an expensive projector, so I am thinking of alternatives? Did anyone find a cheap projector with high resolution?
