Re: Carbon 3D

Hi All,

I have made several tests with TPX, sadly it did not work out. It behaved more or less like FEP.
I wonder if anyone tried a LiquiGlide coated film??

Re: Carbon 3D

Here is an Idea I want to share of a way to speed up printing with standard vats: 1. use a passive tilting vat similar to titan-1 system, but instead of just resting on the base below, let it rest on an electric contact connected to one of the controller (arduino) inputs. 2. for every slice, project...

Re: Carbon 3D

Titan 1 does not use any magical technology. They have a simple vat flex-hinged on one side to have a self tilting mechanism. To gain extra speed they just give you the opportunity to speed up layers that have less suction issues then others. (I'm not sure even if it is autocratically done). You can...

Re: Carbon 3D

So this means we would need the slicer to output the area based on calculating the maximum "blob" area. There won't be much suction force if the projection area is spread over a lot of tiny parts, rather than concentrated in one part. Maybe it would be possible to add a variable $maxArea ...

Re: Carbon 3D

What is interesting to note is that the speed of the carbon 3d printer is not uniform, you can see it clearly in video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VTJq9Z5g4Jk . It is much slower in the layers where it has to cure a lo of fluid which is in contact with each other. Here is my theory regarding di...

Re: Carbon 3D

Ok I got a supplier in Canada for the Teflon AF 2400 in Solution. $250USD. There is a 45 day lead time. Im going to do some research into making the film. If I make 50micron thick film I should only need 20ml of the 100ml for a sheet large enough for my vat so I could make a few experiments. Lookin...

Re: Carbon 3D

Using top down systems for continues printing is indeed limited to thin walls, as others mentioned it, when a big surface is cured then dipped slowly, the viscosity and surface tension of the resin will prevent it from filling the entire dipped surface. However, on bottom up systems, raising the mod...

Re: Carbon 3D

Yesterday I have ordered TPX from CSHYDE. For those who have problem with international shipping costs, you can do what I do: use shipito.com that gives you a US address, then forward it to any place you want for low prices. Last time I ordered FEP, it was $6 US shipping + $10 from shipito to my ove...
