Re: Why are there no large stage DLP 3D printers

Shrinkage of the resin was a huge problem and probably still is. Resolution is only a problem if your application requires fine resolution AND large parts. I was working on a vat that is about 10 x 18 and it worked for smaller parts but keeping large things attached became to much of a problem. Prin...

There are a few of us who can delete the spam posts and/or accounts. Please ignore the spam until we can delete them. This is a volunteer effort in part, so we are not checking on a rigid schedule. In the mean time, I hope that you enjoy the printing content as much as I do.

Any way to renew old resin?

I have been away from this for about a year and I have 3 qt of resin that will cure with a laser but not the projector. So to quote Miracle Max from The Princess Bride, is it all dead or just mostly dead? Is it possible to add more of the chemical that makes it cure? I have contacted Makerjuice and ...

Re: procedure(s) for determining exposure time

Is your color wheel still in place? My estimates were based on Sub G resin and there may be a difference.

Re: large build platform

I built a unit with a large platform (300x300) and still have some work to do on it. Shrinkage is an issue as mentioned. I made some test parts similar to belt buckles about 3" x 5" x .25" and there was enough warpage that they become unusable. A small gear for a RepRap extruder came ...

Re: Drivers needed to controll mega 2560

How about a little more detail on the buzzing. Does the motor move a little then stop and buzz? If so, the step rate is probably too high. Have you tried to use Pronterface or any other software to jog the motors and verify the hardware setup? It sounds like you are getting close to having it work. ...

Re: Need Firmware Help (RAMPS 1.4)

Since you can use custom code in CW there are alternatives. Forget about normal XYZ orientation and relationships for your application for a minute. You have two motors to control that just happen to be attached to the same hardware. Lets call them A1 and A2 for axis1,2. Most of the time you want th...

Re: Drivers needed to controll mega 2560

How much experience in motion control do you have? This will help get appropriate answers. Have you made the motors turn with any other software? I used Pronterface during hardware debug because I also have a RepRap and it helps to sort if the problem is with one program or another, or a setup issue...

Re: Can CW be used for CNC machining?

There are USB motion control devices that are compatible with parallel ports. I am using a UC-100 and Mach3 to run a cnc router that normally would accept input from a parallel port. $130-$150 plus shipping depending on where you buy. This device is not the only option. This is not just a USB to par...
