Low viscosity resins are easier for printing high resolution parts and cleaning. I've recently seen some resin thinners available at 3drensyns such as
https://www.3dresyns.com/products/thinn ... d-dilutant
I'll be keen to hear of any experience or advice using these.
Cheers

Re: Lens modification on Acer P1500
Note there is a useful a lens modification guide for the Acer X1240 at http://imgur.com/a/FOgXW The Acer 6150 and presumably the 1500 are very similar. The specific steps for the 6150 lens modifications include: Once the lens is off and the zoom adjustment screws out. Pull the zoom adjustment ring o...

Re: FTD (FunToDo) resins on LittleRP?
I hope to try out these flexvats with underplates when they become available. Are the prints failing part way (>5mm z axis) into the print? I had a similar experience with divots on taller prints using the B9 black resin. This was solved by boosting the retraction rate to 300 and the lift height to ...

Re: procedure for establishing exposure times for new resin
Another simple quick way to set the base exposure with a new resin or pigment is as follows: Use the calibrationgrid.stl from http://www.littlerp.com/?page_id=55 Start with the recommended exposure settings. Check via the mirror the build platform is sitting flat on the dish. Print a few layers and ...

Re: Lens modification on Acer P1500
Yes the following modifications help particularly at higher resolutions: Lowering the lens about ~2mm helps center the lens for printing and reduces blurring at the top of the image Stepping out the lens ~5mm helps reduce spherical aberration issues across the build platform Zooming down as much as ...

Re: Increasing resin reactivity during print - fix?
Another update after a few more months use: High retract rates have helped; improve surface quality, reduce print failures plus 'flaking' on taller prints and improved pdms life. Presumably these help mix the resin similar to wipers used on other printers. Am currently using 5.5 mm lift with 300mm/m...

Re: Compatable resins with LittleRP
For molding platinum cure silicones its important to fully cure the resin. This typically involves prolonged UV then a thorough heat cure. There should be no residual smell when the resin is cut. Mold release is also needed - a coat of Mann Ease 200 works well. If the silicone still fails to fully c...

Re: Issue with PDMS
This looks promising. The method I use for setting 'just enough' exposure across the build platform is: Lower exposure so only the center pegs are printing ok and the outer pegs only partially form. Nb to save time you often only need to print a few layers to see this. Initially you can check via th...

Re: Issue with PDMS
As you say probably too much exposure. Some quick suggestions:
I find the base settings and calibration pegs from the littlerp site useful for setting exposure.
Set it just enough so that all the pegs print across the build platform.
Keep retraction rate high ~200mm/min

Re: Considering a LittleRP and have some questions
We have a couple of these printers- some answers: 1. Portable? Its best to unscrew the projector. The two parts are reasonably transportable. Then reattach and fine tune the focus which takes about 5 minutes. 2.XD2321 Don't know about this. But its likely to be a lot easier to work with one of the p...
