Yesterday i tried to print Ironman.
here is the result:
looks like the top part i did to fast a good learning lesson
the mask part came out really awsome!

Re: my DLP build
and here is the completed print.
~60 micron xy
100 micron in z
z speed: 200
exposure: 1900ms
first 5 layers: 6000ms
print duration: 1:39
resin: makerjuice subg+ mixed with subflex

Re: my DLP build
hi hp_,
nice job!
got a few question about the resolution
for the ear you used 24 micron xy resolution. is that the maximum resolution for p1500 / closest you can get a sharp image?
if this unmodified projector?
thanks!

Re: my DLP build
Hi snow, this is all done with an unmodified projector. the aproaximate xy resolution is based on 1920 x 1080 resolution on 192 mm x 108mm = 100 micron - if you project on an area of 48mmx 27mm you would have ~25 micron per xy area.
i think this is probably the maximum resolution.
cheers,
hp

Very nice print!
What is the average printed wall thickness of the mask?

Hi Edge,
i've measured 1.5mm so i guess average.. 1.5 - 2mm

Hey,
How are you peeling the print? It looks like your using a pillow vat, could you explain it a bit? It seems quite complicated...
Thanks,
Michael

Re: my DLP build
This is a wonderful work. The Ironman head looks great!
Hp, do you think that belt driven Z axis can do 25 and 50 micron layer thickness!
If it can do so, I would say it will be a great option to consider, since it's faster and quieter than a lead screw. Have you done any experimentation with those thicknesses?

Re: my DLP build
Hi,
i can confirm 50micron is also not a problem. i print this thickness all the time now.
25 micron i also tried and it printed but i made a mistake and let my vat run dry
be-aware i use a special VAT construction that makes this possible.. very low pull force needed
cheers,
hp

Re: my DLP build
Note to self, tension of the fep film is very important when using a pillow vat.
been struggling this morning and decided to check tension of the fep.. saw it was not stretched enough. fixed the problem.. and again.. printing with no issue
the more strechted and tensed the fep film is the easier it is to print with it.
