Hybrid Light Engine
By combining a laser, a fluorescent element and an LED, Casio has created an original mercury-free hybrid light source capable of generating high brightness. Casio has achieved high brightness output of green light, which until now, has been considered difficult with conventional semiconductor light sources, by efficiently converting blue laser light into green light using a fluorescent element

The Greetings, Dear Readers

The integration with a twist; The “Z" axel system at its extreme, as the build-up evolves, at or on later dates I will post the updates. In over the next few weeks; I will have all the components and instruments, installed on the “Z" slide; This assembly is part of my second SLA build, for the bottom-up configuration, and is based upon the Galvo, LCD panel, and the DLP / LED/ LASER hybrid Projector? The three in one ultra-interchangeable module system that is factor in with a precision linear scale and readout.

a- Unboxing; Of the some arrivals was on the, September, 15th 2014!

b- Probably the rest of the components will arrive within this month of october.

c- First look; that is to be followed by the following steps and many more.

d- Buildup;

e- Electronics;

f- Bells and whistles.

g- Choices of choosing the projector? and taking the chance-out of choosing.

h- Getting the feet wet; November, 30th 2014?

i- Starting over at the finish line; or “HOORAY”!

Best Regards

PhotoModeler; 3D Scanning Software

http://us3.campaign-archive2.com/?u=8b1 ... 9d9cf97a42

New Software Release - 2014.1.1
The latest version of PhotoModeler (v2014.1.1) was released Sept 15th. There are a few interesting new features, in addition to our usual improvements to help with stable operation with the widest possible variety of computing environments and project types.

The new features:

Draw Mask Mode: A new Draw Mask tool has been added for drawing masks directly onto photos. These masks can be used to remove parts of photos from being included in the output textures. Masks no longer need to be created by another program.

Texture Planar Projection for 3D Export: An optional texture projection format has been added. In addition to the full-wrap ‘flats’ based texture file, now a planar projection map file can be exported. This format is good for flat and 2.5D objects and is helpful if manual post-export texture editing is required.

SmartMatch for non-SmartMatch projects: You can now start a project as a non-SmartMatch project (manual or coded target marking for example), and then run SmartMatch processing on the result. This is good for adding density to an existing project, or for control point marking before SmartMatch processing.

Other improvements: new tools to open photos based on current selections, orthophoto export now works with imported surfaces, speed and memory handling improvements, a processing/orientation option to use Smart Orient (a robust orientation algorithm optimized for large point count projects), better handling of control points in SmartMatch projects, and several minor bug fixes and improvements.

The release has a total of 37 fixes and improvements. See the upgrades page for more information.
3D Printing from Photos
Are you an architect looking to build and display scaled models? A designer prototyping your latest work? A geologist looking for a physical model of some terrain? Or do you just want to hold your 3D model as an actual, tangible object?

With PhotoModeler, you can transform your photos into an actual 3D object using a 3D printer. Take photos of your object or scene, build the model with PhotoModeler, export, and print in 3D.

A recent PhotoModeler blog post shows how to make 3D prints from photos for two objects. As well the process is summarized in our latest tip video.
New Tip Videos
There are 7 new tip videos since the last newsletter.

Tip 64: Relating Camera Stations and Photos in PhotoModeler - this tip explains the relationship between a photo and the camera that took it (i.e. the camera station), the orientation or position of the camera station, and their display in the 3D Viewer.

Tip 65: PhotoModeler Help Resources - this tip provides an overview of the many useful resources available to assist with learning PhotoModeler.

Tip 66: Interesting Ways to Set PhotoModeler’s 3D View - this tip explains the most useful and interesting ways of manipulating and displaying the model in the 3D Viewer.

Tip 67: Two ways to use external XYZ data in PhotoModeler - this tip describes various ways of importing external 3D knowledge into PhotoModeler, focusing on the two most common uses: multi-point transforms and control points.

Tip 68: Precise Camera Alignment in 3D Studio Max - this tip shows an interesting way of exporting the project camera positions (camera angles and locations) for use with rendering software applications.

Tip 69: Using 3D Glasses with the 3D Viewer - this tip shows a fun way to display your model in the 3D Viewer for use with 3D Glasses. Make your model pop out of the screen!

Tip 70: 3D Printing from Photos – a more comprehensive tip video showing the process of 3D printing a PhotoModeler project (as summarized in the section above).
