Hi,
I have a functional printer as it is, but still could not resist to pledge on this :
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/72 ... n-accuracy
Does anyone have an opinion on what I just spent my money on.
=)

Re: Z-Axis from Kickstarter
i can't see anything new about it , so i'd say it's just someone on the bandwagon re-inventing the wheel .
however i dont mind being proven wrong , as this world needs more creative minds

Re: Z-Axis from Kickstarter
yes i'd agree , but precision is additive , depending on what is driving it , steppers , servo's , let alone to the depths of the associated drivers
also to be able to make an item to a given dimension you need equipment , 10 times more accurate
so overall i'd doubt their claims (nicely)
as your now getting into the realms of room temperature thermal differences ( which can be absolute fun calibrating a ships propeller shaft in winter , but i digress )

Re: Z-Axis from Kickstarter
I actually canceled my pledge ... =/
Since this no ball-screw solution (doubt the precision) and also, the hole-patterns does not match any common alu-extrusions (non-metric).
This is my current solution :

I feel unsure if it's worth all the effort / risk / money for a "potential" upgrade.
Tell me what you think, I might change my mind again =)

Re: Z-Axis from Kickstarter
looks ok , i cant see any valid reason to change , is that a 10x2 screw your using or x5 , cant quite see from the picture
have you a problem with your z ?

i'll guess that your exposure time , is too high
try lowering the exposure until it's just not curing then add 10- 15%
worth a try either way
