Mono is not an application per-se, but it's more of a set of libraries that will allow you to run applications. I think if you right-click on the CreationWorkshop.exe file, there should be an option to start it using Mono.

Maybe you have an extension of some kind that lets you do that? As far as I can tell with my new mono install it needs to be done from the Terminal.
<terminal prompt>$ mono <drag the .exe into the window>
e.g.
Garden-of-Pure-Ideology:Libraries elicurtz$ mono /Users/elicurtz/github/UVDLPSlicerController/UVDLP/Software/PC/UV_DLP_3dPrinter/UV_DLP_3D_Printer/bin/Debug/CreationWorkshop.exe

I had to change a few of the library references to even get it to build, so I'm not surprised the precompiled version didn't do much. Unless you're eager to pound your head against code I think you should consider the OS X version nonfunctional at this time. I'm going to do some work on fixing it and/or splitting out the UI from the actual printer control parts.
