Only 1 layer printing

Postby jarno » Mon Aug 24, 2015 8:32 am

Hi,
Yesterday I had my first run with latest Creation Workshop connected to Smoothieboard (default settings).
Manual controls work fine: Z movements were accurate.
When starting the job, it sends the first layer and freezes (time keeps running in the top right corner, but nothing happens) when Z starts to go up.
If I then don't stop to job, but go to manual control to move Z up - it sends the second layer...
Also tried with older Creation Workshops - same result.
Using the settings recommended for LittleRP https://vimeo.com/108978676
Any ideas?

Can you post your slicing profile? Also, what firmware are you using?

At the moment we are working 12 - 14 hour days...
Sunday is probably the soonest I can answer your questions.
Thank you

Sorry for not getting back sooner - not enough free time.
I updated the Smoothieboard to the latest firmware.
This time tried on desktop. With no projector attached the play button had finally some positive feedback: not freezing after first layer.
BUT, motor movements and displaying layers was completely out of sync.
First layer went OK (bed started to go up), next 2 were sent before bed lowering, after that 4 layers before lowering... Count went up then down...
After stopping the print (cancelling), the motor still goes on until -first try; pressing the stop button - no effect, then unplug button in cw - no effect, unplugging the usb - stopping, second try (shorter run); pressing the stop button - no effect, then unplug button in cw - stopping!
On the laptop there are countless of drivers installed that use COM ports. Can this be a problem?
On the the desktop only essential drivers. The inf for layers seems to be faster than motor movements?
Default settings.
Thank you Steve
