LumiPocket LT: SCARA based, UV laser 3D Printer

Finally, after many months of testing, we're almost ready to launch our new Kickstarter campaign!

After finishing the production of LumiPocket, we always tried to improve and refine both the hardware and the software.
After slightly less than a year, quality is good, and many professionals are now contacting us, and they are quite satisfied with the results:

Of course we will continue improving it (expecially the software)... but it was also time for another project!
We wanted to offer people a solution where an external videoprojector was not needed, designing a resin based 3d printer with a good price, so we start experimenting with UV lasers.
After evaluating every possible XY movement mechanism, we came up with this modified SCARA arm that covers the same area of the "old" Lumipocket, and still is so compact that were able to design a "top unit" that blends nicely with the existing design.

We put all the electronics in there, including an SD reader, a display and a 5 way joystick, so not only you do not need an external projector, but also you don't need to be connected to a PC anymore (after generating the job and saving it on an SD, of course).

And finally, since we wanted to make it even more flexible, we added the possiblity to use the same laser, and a special tray, to do laser etching on many materials, and PCB etching as well.

PS, the DLP solution will still offer a better resolution (37um vs 100um) and speed, but LT will offer a better price and won't need a projector, so it hopefully will be a good consumer / maker / hobbists solution.

Sounds great to me. I hope you don't mind me asking, but how will this compare with what peachyprinter are developing in terms of price, speed and accuracy? Obviously, it should be able to be more accurate given that you are not having to deal with shifting focus with the resin height changing, but if you were to put a peachy printer laser on top of a lumipocket, would you get much worse resolution?

Hi, the price is higher compared to the Peachy Printer, and lower than other resin-based 3D Printers.
You will get a complete, assembled machine, a Scara Arm is much more precise, and it does not need Pc connection.
It is also multifunctional, since you can also use it for PCB etching and laser engraving with the software we supply.
And LumiPocket LT has a UV shield for the UV laser too. Our goal was more oriented to building a standalone, high quality machine rather than try to make the cheapest resin based 3d printer (since the guys fro Peachy did alreay a good job with this )
