FEP is tough stuff. I accidentally drove my Z home with a 15mm diameter printed shaft on my build plate (again). By the time I could hit the power switch it had driven about 25mm into the 0.005" FEP. It permanently deformed the FEP but did not break through.

i do pre-tension my container Flex vat, as you can see in the picture below, I have room to tension the fep film by pushing a piece of 10mm electronical cable between the lid and the fep film.
giving pretty tensed fep film. And thanks to my neighbour who cut of the bottom part of the container makes it a perfect usable Flex vat :)

the rest of the pictures are just some pictures I took.

I'm trying to understand how you're making the fep film taught with the 10mm electrical cable between the lid and the fep film. Would you mind taking pictures of the separate pieces in a way that illustrates how your vat is put together? :)

Also, on a complete side note there seems to be a lot of different thickness for FEP film available online. The thinnest I've found is 0.0125mm which seems to be VERY VERY thin.... almost like surround-wrap food film thin, which would make it very flexible... to the point where I think the weight of the resin would cause the film to bulge and deform instantly. Is there an optimum thickness to choose? Something that is thick enough and strong enough to not sag and deform with the weight of the resin? I was thinking of getting some 0.15mm or 0.1mm but would like to hear if anyone has any experience with different thicknesses.

Nice! After a little online research, the non-stick oven-roasting bags are coated with PTFE.

Hello

Actually the resin is; directly from the bottle to test the film; As of now I am making the FLEX-VAT from a container,
and going to foil the bottom part corners away, rather than cutting it to have a clean surface .
