Hi Guys,
just wanted to touch base and see everyone's opinion on this idea.
basically I want to build an opensource lcd resin printer.
with on off-the-shelf parts providing a build area of 29cm x 10cm x 20cm Height using the raspberry pi as printer controler
the resolution will be 150 micron - xy-axis .
similar price point as the littlerp($650 + $100)
What do you guys think about this?
Cheers,
hp

Interesting project, resolution x-y too high. 100 microns would be ideal.
Ciao.

hi Seblos,
to reduce complexity the only off-the-shelve LCD monitor with enough brightness is 150 Micron for a cost effective price.
i hava found a off-the-shelve lcd with 50 micron xy and enough brightness but print area is much smaller(12cm × 7cm) - plus cost will go up
cheers,
hp

hp, are you planning to use an array of LEDs? Or will the brightness of the LCD be enough to cure the resin?

just found a 7" lcd panel with enough brightness @79 Micron...xy
potentially 9-15 seconds for 1 layer(100 Micron thickness)
now that is very cool.. don't know the price yet though

I experiment with 7 inches 1280x800 with led array. The speed is 1,5 seconds for 50 microns thickness

Hi dragokirov,
thats a really cool looking LCD printer
thanks for sharing
I'm looking at the daylight resins, the reason not to alter an existing LCD would greatly reduce complexity building a printer.
and the Resin price is very acceptable.
Cheers,
hp

thank you hp_
Forget everything you know about the LCD printers! The LED array and the drivers cost about $ 200. I think it's very cheap

I think i paid the same for my led array,
but with a 12.3 Inch Screen with 1000 Nits it cost me $125 + $50 HDMI board but cure times are ~25 seconds per layer
do you have any results of prints..looking forward to it.
cheers,
