DLP as good as traditional SLA?

Hello everyone. I was wondering if DLP SLA printers are as accurate as the laser ones. Basically, are they waaaay more accurate than FDM? The reason I ask is because I'm thinking of making one, but I don't want to work so hard and spend all the money on the liquid and everything if they aren't that much more accurate than my FDM.

The answer is "it depends". Basically, a laser will have a fixed spot size - typically around a 100 microns which defines the lower limit of feature size. A well-tuned DLP machine can go as low as 25 microns.

I like to use this photo for comparison (yes the FDM print is exceptionally bad).
