Vat Sizes of Interest

What would folks like to see in term of vat sizes for their custom DLP builds? I notice that no one has really stepped up to offer vats for the DLP/resin market yet, and seeing as I just got a large laser cutter, I'd like to step up and get vats out there and more folks building. I want to start wit...

Re: Retina iPad Display

Well, made some bad assumptions about the layer heights I've been using. I thought I was <50 microns but in reality I was closer to 170 microns! So 8 seconds at 170 micron layers is not bad at all, exposure time should go down w/ smaller layer heights. Also having removed that layer of mylar on the ...

3040 CNC

Looking to sell off a lightly used 3040 CNC w/ some bits.

I'm moving up to a bigger/more powerful router for my project needs. Has a few hours of cuts on it, mainly acrylic and MDF. I did try some aluminum, very very slowly.

Message for pics and price if interested.

K40 Laser cutter w/ Upgrades

Looking to sell off my small chinese lasercutter. Has new nozzle w/ air assist, air pump and power z bed.

Was used for lasercutting and SLS experimentation. So might be a good starting point if SLS is something you are interested in.

Message me for pics and pricing if interested.

Re: Retina iPad Display

Used a radiometer to see how much power is being lost thru the screen...ultimately A LOT is being lost. So started to see if I could remove anything else, the back of the LCD assembly has a reflective mylar backing. Figured removing that would help...sadly, it didn't. It doesn't seem to have done an...

Re: Retina iPad Display

AndersonTa if it's just radiant heat use some small fans to pull the air out the area , but also place a fan low down and push air in , this will cause the air to evacuate the area quicker , Radiant heat is always a problem, also take a look at how much power your using , it may well be a simple ma...

Re: Retina iPad Display

Your resin curing video has 404'd. I've been looking into water cooling hot ends for FDM printers... It's way more efficient than air cooling. If you mount your LED pcb to an aluminum heatblock and set up a small radiator, I bet you could easily keep it cool. What kind of wattage are you expecting ...

Re: Retina iPad Display

Did some more testing having the LCD raised up about 1.5" from the top of the LED array. At 36V and 5A I'm getting cure times with MadeSolid Black resin at about 8 secs per layer (~<50 microns). Not bad! Again it was just to see curing speeds, no real structures/patterns to test for accuracy) I...

Re: Holes in build platform

I'd suggest floating the object and putting it on a bed of supports w/ a base. Might have some surface defects, but will be better than the large deformations.

Re: Retina iPad Display

Figured we could use this info, specs for the iPad screen. Would be useful for CAD.
