Re: Daylight Polymer 3D Printer
oliveenchine, excellent work! My only worry is the spacing between the LEDs and getting an even cure across the surface of the LCD without hotspots. This is why Phife eventually had to make his own PCB with his UV setup. There are no off the shelf PCBs that have tightly packed LEDs. It all comes dow...

Re: Daylight Polymer 3D Printer
Is there a spec sheet for the Daylight resin and what wavelength it cures at best? There seems to be two typical options of LEDs:
Royal Blue (440 - 450 nm)
Bright Blue (460 - 470 nm)
Would Royal Blue be better because it's closer to UV?

Re: Daylight Polymer 3D Printer
Some good info hp. Thanks. Spent some time browsing panelook and found that the all the higher res screens don't have as high of brightness as a lower res screens. It seems the the guys at photocentric3d.com went with that low res screen for a reason. You just can't find a retina type screen with a ...

Re: Daylight Polymer 3D Printer
VERY interesting that they are using an unmodified stock LCD! After struggling a long time with a UV setup, this seems almost impossible to me. http://www.panelook.com is an awesome resource for LCD info. Using the advanced search you can search by brightness. Looks like the iPad has a brightness of...

Visible Light Resins
I only know of two places to get visible light resins (non-UV). Does anyone know of any other places?

Re: Daylight Polymer 3D Printer
I would assume they are using an array of high wattage of leds to cure. The stronger the light, the faster the cure time. See this at about the one minute mark. https://youtu.be/s2PhxAPz2I4?t=69 You'd probably need a setup similar to this. Phife's posts on this forum are a good resource if you haven...

Re: Daylight Polymer 3D Printer
Kvirre, excited to hear how your test goes, please keep us updated. Wondering if you plan on shooting high wattage light through the iPad mini screen or just using the the iPad's light source. I'm guessing it's gonna be pretty slow with just the iPad.

Re: Backlit e-reader for LCD-printer, would it work?
As far as I know, even if it says it's backlit, it's probably not, it's really side lit. It's just physically impossible to back light e-ink. If you're interested, you should read up on e-ink and tft lcd on wikipedia to understand why the technology works the way it does. Those articles and a few yo...

Re: Simple Light control
DoctorProfessorGuy, Can you share some info on your non UV blocking polarizer? I think these are hard to find and very expensive at decent sizes. If you needed/wanted to, which polarizer would you be replacing, or would you do both? Doing the math it seems about 8 3.5" lcds (iphone 4 screen) wo...

Re: Retina iPad Display
benjismarket, I think we'll need some more info to see where your problem might be. What kind of lenses are you using? How far way is the led? What nm led's are you using? What are you using to drive the leds? How long was your cure time if at all? This thread is specifically for ipad screen, so con...
