Re: Acrylic Flex Vat
Wow!! Wouldn't 1/4" polycarbonate defeat the purpose? I've worked with lexan as thin as 1/32" under lots of stress and it has never cracked, it bends easily but never cracks. I would check my material sources first and make sure it really is polycarbonate instead of plexiglass or acrylic.

Very nice!
Keep the pictures coming.
Thanks for sharing.
Did you reinforce the FEP with thin plastic? or is it just a FEP membrane.

Re: 3D scans.
So far the only scan I've been able to do with this configuration for lack of time is this one:
Hopefully I'll be able to run more scans this week.

Re: 3D scans.
Finally, my fully assembled structured light 3D scanner.
Re: 3D scans.
I've really been interested in obtaining a scanner and generating my own models as well. The Flexscan3d looks like it does a very nice job. And the original scan before decimating looked fantastic. I think it's a matter of experimenting until you find an average resolution your printer will be able...
Re: 3D scans.
I might have a ton of questions on this if your open to helping. ;) Right now I have a Sense scanner which works great for large objects. And I am a beta tester for the Matterform, which is less than impressive currently and I'm loosing hope in it. Thus seems like a nice alternative. :) Absolutely....
3D scans.
Since I started building my printer I knew a good source of original virtual objects would be necessary for the completion of my project. So I started experimenting with different methods for 3D scanning and virtualization. I started with Agisoft Photoscan with good results but it takes forever. I h...

LiquiGlide vs Teflon
Here's a thought for a cheap option on something that keeps many builds from really taking off. http://innovation.uk.msn.com/personal/food-companies-test-non-stick-ketchup-bottle I will wait for my almost empty bottle of ketchup, them I'll cut it open and run some tests. I will pour some resin on it...

Re: Getting there.
Excellent! I'm glad to see my design being enjoyed outside of the Thingiverse. If you print any other designs with your SLA, let me know. I'm planning to build my own. Take care! Hey there! Your design prints out beautifully. I'm in the middle of reconstructing my machine and hopefully I will be ab...
