30mm in six minutes? Welp this just confirms its possible. Time to buy a fish tank!
Also looking into dual photon photopolymerization.

Re: Carbon 3D
I don't think TPX is that good.
Doing some unit analysis, its O2 perm is about 0.00014 Barrer.
Sipuran is 550 Barrer, and Teflon AF is 990 Barrer for O2.

Re: Carbon 3D
You don't care if its in focus at the surface because the surface cure is retarded due to O2 inhibition. The layer is approximately 150 microns thick, and does vary by light flux, O2 conc, and photoinitiator type. So there is some maximum light intensity you can't got above because otherwise the O2 ...

Re: Carbon 3D
If you are doing a top down vat, the resin at the surface is inhibited from curing by the presence of Oxygen (per CLIP/Carbn3D). So if you focus just underneath that layer, you would avoid defects caused by miniscus, and gain the benefits of the Carbon3D "CLIP" method. get a fish tank and ...

Re: Carbon 3D
Well tell them to focus their projectors at just below the surface and they can get this CLIP effect for free.
I just dislike immersion printers because your build volume requires a LOT of resin.

Re: Carbon 3D
The biggest problem with floating resin on saturated salt water is miniscus effects and diffraction of light at the interface. You see all kinds of surface roughness on most top-down submersion style builds. Also, you can't empty the vat back into the bottle, and exposure to air/moisture shortens th...

Re: Carbon 3D
So the only concern I have is that eventually resin tends to cloud silicone coatings like DPMS. But it seems to be super stretchy, so while it may stretch, it should return to shape very easily. Silpuran is a silicone film, so we might be able to use a cheaper non-medical supplier. They are also ver...

Re: Carbon 3D
Of course, you could neutralize it first by soaking in a strong base. Then what is left over would be a very weakly basic film.
CRUD, I misread somewhere. Nafion is only about 1 barrers.

Re: My Printer in Actione - inc Flexvat
Except the b9 creator wasn't using the oxygen inhibition effect to speed printing. Thats the trick.

Nafion is also very gas porous, but may cause reactions in the resin due to sulfonic acid groups.
