Re: Printing a PLA VAT - horrbile idea?

As an Idea, would coating the printed part with caulking silicon be ok? I would assume that it should be fine since that seems to be what a lot of people are using for joining glass vats together with, but if there is some chemist out there that could confirm, that'd be great!

Re: DLP printer Build

Hi Finhead,

Do you have a good source for the FEP sheets? I checked and it seems places are selling it for about $100 for a 6" square, which seems pretty expensive. What sort of price is reasonable?

Re: Trouble Curing SubG+

Has anyone managed a mod of a mercury lamp projector to use UV LEDs? Even giving the LEDs their own power supply, I guess you'd have to trick the projector into thinking the lamp was still connected, but there should be a way. Regarding the question about single or multiple UV LEDs, I imagine the be...

Re: Wiper System?

What is the benefit of exposing the resin to air? Does it help speed the curing?

Re: Wiper System?

Wow, you're right! I took a look at the following after I read you post: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oG2kV_qBJ8o It seems like it spreads just enough resin for the layer on the glass and then, after curing the layer, it then wipes off the glass. I think this could help avoid partial cured resin ...

Re: Painting printed parts.

Thanks for the responses. If clear acrylic works, then I'd imagine pretty much any acrylic should work. If you can electroplate the parts, does that mean that it's somewhat electrically conductive, or do you have to paint on a conductive layer first? I would have thought the plastic to be an electri...

Re: Creation Workshop RC9 - Not on GitHub!

I'm not happy with the new configured displays. I added it on my machine, so it may or may not be the same resolution as yours. I should probably auto-detect the secondary monitor size, or warn the user if it's not the detected size. The problem isn't the resolution of the display, only that when I...

Re: Creation Workshop RC9 - Not on GitHub!

Hi Steve, This is looking good. I did have a slight issue with the configured displays. the program had chosen the correct display by default and it was in the Configured Displays, but when I started the print it printed to the primary display instead. Removing the configured display and adding it b...

Re: Painting printed parts.

Thanks for the response. Do you know what paint types will or won't work with the resins, and any difference for the different resin types? I guess using a standard automotive primer like they do with a lot of the ABS miniatures would allow anything to work, but was wondering what has been tried. Ch...
