Re: Not enough holding power for z axis?

put simply try and get as high a voltage as possible within the spec of the stepper driver. ( i often run steppers on a 68v supply with approprate stepper drivers ) polou's i believe can take up to 35v , however i would not go above say 32v max , polous have a habit of instant death if over 35v . de...

Re: Not enough holding power for z axis?

Hi all, I'm putting together a monster top down dlp and have run into a problem with my z axis. The z travel is 13", carriage is much heavier than normal and the motor it came with was nema 23 with an e brake. I've tried running it with the NEMA 17 motor + RAMPS I was previously using for my s...

Re: Microstepping and accuracy

microstepping is really to help with resonance of the motor , rather than resolution or accuracy designing in the resolution of the mechanics of a design is a far better route , than trying to rely on electronics to hold a position between poles of a stepper , the pole with the most pull will always...

Re: How to move CW stepper motors?

When I generate the slice in CWrc3 the image at the time of projection it appears shifted to the side. with the other versions I do not cosegui so far make steper rotacionarem. i do not understand the above , shifted to the side of what ? , it should show as a second monitor or to the right side of...

Re: Retina iPad Display

AndersonTa if it's just radiant heat use some small fans to pull the air out the area , but also place a fan low down and push air in , this will cause the air to evacuate the area quicker , Radiant heat is always a problem, also take a look at how much power your using , it may well be a simple mat...

Re: COM port values

I am creating new firmware for running DLP in arduino mega, i need COM port values behind this Creation Workshop software to design the firmware. you can set any Com port value in CW , but the standard default is 115200,8,n,1 for most devices (actually you will find 250000 to be a better value ) fo...

Re: How to move CW stepper motors?

do not worry the scripts you have will work with any version of CW . what shield are you using ? on your arduino if any it is important to have your drivers correct FIRST if not then motors may not always work ... so have your stepper drivers set to 16 ... set the correct steps per 0.1 in your ardui...
