Re: Creation Workshop Software, Multiple Technology Use.

@Finhead: I'm not familiar with the Beaglebone products, is it able to switch between different firmware like the SmoothieBoard can? I would also like to see your mega delta, got pics... @PacManFan: I've only read about SDR, that's pretty cool that you work with it. What's your opinion of the Novena...

Re: Creation Workshop Software, Multiple Technology Use.

Maybe the Novena laptop can manage a diverse collection of firmware, and allow you to switch between different technologies? Novena open source hardware and software laptop. Comes with a general-purpose breakout board; the inclusion of a ‘ROMulator’ breakout board; the inclusion of the MyriadRF sof...

Re: Creation Workshop Software, Multiple Technology Use.

I'm in the early stages of development, and as the design evolves so does my BOM, and the associated costs. So I can plan accordingly I'm trying to understand what technologies your software presently supports, and what hardware and software is required for the various technologies I want to explore...

Re: Research: Breaking force needed for release?

does it matter how thick the layer is? from simple thinking about it, i´d say no. Thickness can have an effect if the material is flexible. If it was .00001 mm thick it wouldn't noticeably flex, and perform like a solid, if it was 100 mm thick it could flex, and initiate peeling. What material are ...

Creation Workshop Software, Multiple Technology Use.

I'm in the R&D phase of designing a multiple use Cartesian platform. I plan to switch my machine between different additive manufacturing methods, and technologies. Can Creation Workshop switch between filament printing, and DLP-SLA printing, or is that still in development? Does Creation Worksh...

Re: Research: Breaking force needed for release?

With a PDMS film (Silicone) on the vat bottom, the separation force is ~100 oz (27.8 N) for an image area of 625 mm2 (25 mmx25 mm). The separation force can go as high as ~140 oz, and it goes higher as the exposure time increases. Digital Material Fabrication Using Mask-Image-Projection-based Stereo...

Re: Belt drive Z-axis

@johnrpm: A screw does not address Z-banding or other types of surface artifact generation, and that is a concern of mine that I want to address by using a belt. My fall back to the belt-pulley-gear approach is a Tr10x2 Roton lead screw, with an anti-backlash nut or a loose fitting nut. Banding and...

Re: Usable projector list + hacks

I'm still trying to figure this out. From what I have read the Acer H6510BD (1920x1080 pixels) has a transparent (white/clear) color wheel segment (RGBCMY) which I think allows more specified lumen output. I'm guessing that the transparent (white/clear) segment is why you don't need to remove the co...
