Re: Usable projector list + hacks
I'm hoping to clear up a bit of confusion of how single chip DLP projectors work with lithography. Single chip DLP projectors use a color wheel along with a mercury lamp and a single DMD. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/7/7e/DLP_Color_wheel.gif The mercury lamp is on the left in the ab...

Re: Usable projector list + hacks
Please list any projectors that you find that don't work and I'll tell you why and how to make it work. Projectors that will only display light that is over 420nm will not work with resins that only cure from UV up to 420nm Violet. These projectors require resins that are sensitive to light in the v...

Re: InFocus LP280
You can use it with resins that are sensitive in the 460nm (Blue) range using the mercury lamp provided or if you are handy enough replaced with a 10-100W 460nm LED for use through the Blue LCD. Most resins are only sensitive from UV up to ~420nm (UV-Violet). You will need to use resins that cure wi...

Re: Perforated build plate uneven...tips?
One trick to working with a warped build plate is to build up some support layer first by printing a solid until it's level then starting your print after that.
This won't help if you if your Z-axis or the build plate flexes.

Re: Any monotone projectors out their >?
If you use sensitive enough resins in the <420nm range or resins sensitive into the Blue (460nm) and beyond then you don't have to remove the color wheel from the projector.

Re: Why are there no large stage DLP 3D printers
Lack of budget, tools and understanding of radcure. Stitching multiple projectors or beam steering a single projector adds expense and requires skills in programming, optics and machine design. Paying $1K or more to fill a large vat with resin is also outside the range of most budgets after spending...

Re: Monochrome LCD SLA 3D Printer.
Photopolymers sensitive into the visible spectrum are nothing new. A quick Google search for Radcure resins with visible light will return many results for photopolymers used for the past several years.. I'm not sure which resins you had tried in the past. It sounds like it might have been polyester...
