Re: Extending DLP print area for large build volume
Netfabb is kinda strange here. You can only slice a single part at once and the export dialog is also limited in features. However, at the moment it is okay. When there's a need to print multiple parts at once I combine them in Slic3er, export them as STL and then load them in netfabb. I export the ...

Re: Extending DLP print area for large build volume
Hi James, my projector and reservoir both were fixed. I just wanted to do some tests before the machine is redesigned in total e.g. additional moving mechanics. Yes, I use my own software for stepper control and the UI + projector image generation. I generate my slices using the free version of netf...

Re: Extending DLP print area for large build volume
First test was successful. There really isn't much to do... http://i.imgur.com/xtMSfkt.jpg First exposed one side and then the other. In the light reflections you can see it but structure is good. Also inspected it under a microscope. Looks like one piece. Almost forgot it: no special pixel blending...

Perfect James! That's what I was looking for to examine
Let's see if I can contribute some efforts making this home-ready. This evening I'll do some tests...
Thanks,

Re: Extending DLP print area for large build volume
I think you're getting me wrong. I don't want to increase the print area by moving the projector more far away or closer to the reservoir. My plan is to move the projector on a parallel level to the reservoir in X/Y direction. When I move the projector in Z direction we'll loose resolution and proba...

Extending DLP print area for large build volume
Hi! On my own DLP printer I have high resolution (50µm) but only limited total build volume (approx 40x65mm) and was thinking about ideas to expand that. One idea is to move the projector on a X/Y table or extended the projection area using mirrors/prisms or any other sort of - I bet this isnt reall...

Re: Cracking sound at release from FEP film
Hi AndersonTa, it did sound like a drum but probably not high pitched enough. I tightened it a bit more and prints were getting much better. Also the release sound is almost gone now. However, a redesign is needed for my FlexVat since there is no more room left for more tension. I'll also integrate ...

Cracking sound at release from FEP film
Hi! I recently built my own DLP based bottom-up printer using a FlexVat consisting of a original DuPont FEP/Teflon film (50um). There's no extra acrylic in between and just the highly tightened film itself. I have no special peel mechanism but only the Z-axis movement. My prints come out well after ...

Guide to determine exposure times?
Hello all, I'm currently building my own bottom-up DLP based printer using an industrial projector including UV-LEDs. Now I reached a state where I can start my first prints and need to calibrate and determine exposure times for different layer thicknesses. Is there any guide or tutorial on the net ...
