Thanks HTL, I will find a system to make it more tight.
But Im still puzzled by this bulge. If you got a minute and a piece of FEP to spare, could you try printing just one layer without much tension, just to see if you also get the bulge,
Thanks

Re: My Printer in Actione - inc Flexvat
Hi guys, tried the "Ikea" vat tonight, 0.05 FEP stretched firmly but not very very tight. -After a few seconds of exposing the first layer (just a square about 3x3cm) , the FEP film started to bulge, a little bit like plastic becoming too hot. I was just 10 seconds into the first layer, pr...

Re: FEP film - Possibly planning a bulk purchase, any takers
i'm too lazy to make the calculation but seems 100 pounds is a lot.
I bought mine here, already received it:

ok, it's not the same thickness, but you really need that thick ?

Re: DLP Printer, FlexVat, Germany
Interesting. I have a 10mm thick build plate, and yes the resin goes on top and i need to clean it. But as the surface is smooth on all sides, i "scrape" the resin away with a silicon spatula, like the one we use in the kitchen. With holes, how do you clean it when finished printing ? Don'...

Re: I'm hopping on the flexvat bandwagon
Thanks a lot for the drawing above, very clear, I'm planning to build one. Please allow me one question: You are not supporting the FEP film with a glass plate. Any specific reason for this ? Wouldn't it make it easier to avoid bulging of FEP film under the weight of the resin ? (I'm completely newb...

I'm interested to know more too, would like to build one myself. If ever you want to share/sell your CAD drawings, please let me know.

Which parameters impact need for support
Hi guys, been reading this forum for a while now, always plenty of interesting topics. I'm about to receive my Titan1 DLP printer from Kudo3d, it has been shipped. I've been wondering about the use of support structures for a while now, without really understanding what drives the need for them. I h...
