Re: Carbon 3D

I spoke with Bo Pang, the University of Buffalo student whos using a membrane. He told me hes just using PDMS on his machine, so nothing really fancy, just a thin cast sheet of it.

Re: New vat film ideas

I was gonna try some Tefzel out, but it is much more elastic and might not tension well, it also doesnt have much of an oxygen permeability. My TPX film should arrive soon, It has a decent permeability but I think it has some haze which might not work out well.

Re: Help with TILT system

You can put an RC Servo on one of the 4 servo sets of pins. See the picture. The servo pins are near the bottom left side. Marked Servos, to the right of the power connectors. You will need to supply 5V to the 5v pin thats next to the reset switch. This will provide 5v to your servos. Marlin should ...

Re: Need help with Marlin setup - MIN/MAX confusion and home

Servo might not have enough power, Jumpering just takes power from the Arduino which has a limited amount of current it can provide. Not enough to power most servos. I had to provide an external 5v to the 5V pin, this only provides 5v to the servo pins.

Re: Need help with Marlin setup - MIN/MAX confusion and home

Because you are in relative position, so you are telling the Z to move 0.01mm relative to its current location You want to move down to your 0 so you would need to tell the Z to move G1 Z-111 since you are currently at Z111 after homing. Also, put the G28 Z0 in your start code so it homes automatica...

Re: Need help with Marlin setup - MIN/MAX confusion and home

The homing procedure should move to the endstop you have set (max or min) and then move off the endstop, mine then goes back and touches off the endstop again and then moves off a little. My machine is set to home to Max, so after the homing my Z axis is now at my max travel (in my case 280mm) so if...

Re: Need help with Marlin setup - MIN/MAX confusion and home

I edited my post.. have a look

as for your motor moving correctly, so was mine.. couldnt hurt to try it..

As for how the home should work, Its up to you. But for me, I have my home at the top, farthest away from the vat and then it moves down into the vat with a command from the start gcode.

Re: Need help with Marlin setup - MIN/MAX confusion and home

Try flipping your motor wire around, I think I had a similar problem to you and that was what fixed it for me. My machine, I home to Max which is at the top, farthest away from the vat, and then the machine moves down to 0 which is where I start my print. Un invert your Z axis. Oh and if you have a ...
