Re: BenQ TH680/MH680 and Acer H6510BD
Haha, sorry about that. Start with your build size. How big do you want the build envelope to be? Once you determine that, then we can figure out how to set up your slice images to be 1:1 size. Native projector resolution has nothing to do with build size. Of course a 1920 x 1080 native resolution p...

Re: BenQ TH680/MH680 and Acer H6510BD
What size build area does that focal distance give you? Right at one to one, isn't that ow it's supposed to be done? I'm not 100% as you know I just started my build, but yeah 225mm is dead center on both focus rings and 192mm X 108mm. Would it be better to over size the area a little? So at 225mm ...

Re: Here's my DLP printer
Wow, that looks like it makes a big difference! But from a technical standpoint I don't get how it works. I mean, projectors have a fixed resolution, and you're either providing enough UV to successfully cure a voxel, or you aren't. By antialiasing the edges, shouldn't you just end up with some hal...

Re: Ensuring Squareness of Projection
I print a grid on a regular piece of paper with the laser printer. I make the grid the size of my build area which is 6" x 4.5". Lay it right on top of the PDMS in the vat. Since I use Mach3 for control, I use the Mach3 interface to adjust the focus of the projector (lots of small text hel...

Re: New Project Build!
Very Nice! Looking forward to see how well the tiling works and if you get lines where the tiles overlap. There's got to be just enough overlap to make sure the tiles are stuck together but not enough to see any lines. It will be cool to see.

Re: A few points to consider when building a commercial mach
I'm definitely excited about this approach! I've been thinking about making an XY projector sled for multiple, tiled exposures. I would use an HD projector for this setup because of the aspect ratio. Since it's almost 2:1, I would move the projector to double the short side of the build. So... The b...

Re: photos of a 3d print made on my updated printer
Clean print! I'd be curious to see the underside once the supports are removed. Usually the underside of prints (the sides facing the build plate) tend to get a little bumpy from the resin not curing at consistent depths. A problem I hope can be solved with better resins in the future. Thanks for sh...

Re: cheapest resin
My feelings exactly. Shrinkage is the weak link in all resin printers in the hobbyist realm. I've had a few conversations with Josh about getting the shrinkage as low as possible. He is very helpful and open to solving this problem which is a very good thing. I have a sample of his latest batch I ha...
