Re: Flex bottom VAT

hp,
I am using a 0.005" FEP sheet 200mm x 200mm
Build plate is 150mm x 150mm
Where on Alibaba did you get your FEP?
I see you are using 0.05mm (0.002"), that seems really thin?

Re: Flex bottom VAT

Dangre: Did you figure out why your exposure times (16s) were so high and have you remedied the situation? Unfortunately, I haven't figured this one out yet. I've tried different settings on my ViewSonic PJD7820HD but still 16s. This is way too long for big parts as the resin and FEP heats up too m...

Re: SLA Project built with (mostly) recycled/salvaged parts.

MrBaz,
I am getting it from McMaster-Carr but as mentioned in other posts I have to use a really long exposure (16s). I've tried many different settings with my projector so it may be the FEP. I am looking for any advice on where others are getting their FEP and what exposure times they are getting.

Re: SLA Project built with (mostly) recycled/salvaged parts.

As mentioned before, I use 0.005" FEP non supported on a tension devise. I have abused it several times by accidentally driving parts into it 10mm or so and it just stretches. 35 parts all printed in the same area with no notice of degradation. I did learn not to touch the FEP with a cloth or p...

Re: Flex bottom VAT

Here is my version on a mUVe DLP. It is a work in progress so don't look to close. The first pic is the lower portion showing the acrylic tension walls. The second is the complete assembly with the 0.005" FEP pulled down taught. I think a tension system is a must. I'm still playing with exposur...

Re: Kast 3DP (LCD Based?)

Yes, I cast lenses out of resin and even with a polished mold it is hard to get a lens that optically clear. These techniques all use pixels to mask the UV light and I can only imagine just how small these pixels would have to be to make an optically clear lens. Even with pixel shifting or such...

Vaughan,
What resin are you using now and what exposure are you using?

Re: Flex bottom VAT

I have printed at least 30+ parts and could see 100 to be doable. I had no noticeable degradation. I really abused mine and even drove a part 10mm or so into my flex vat with no damage, it just bounced back (I did break my part). 0.005" FEP on a tensioned flex vat, 6" x 6".

Re: Floating resin in Bottom Up setup

First, I think coming up with 'out-of-the-box' ideas is what progresses any idea so I applaud your thinking. To break down a SLA printer is we are trying to cure a resin to give a 3D shape. Currently we cure small layers to build up the whole part. To get the smallest layers possible you need to cre...

Re: Floating resin in Bottom Up setup

Um, unless I'm not thinking clearly...how could you get a 20-50um layer of resin to float on water under your build plate and do this consistently?
