How are folks ensuring that their projection is square? That is to say that the image isn't skewed in any way. The basic calibration grids don't really capture this or give you a direction in which to correct.
Any tips would be great.

Re: Solidator Vat Release Patent
Also read section [00022] in the patent I linked. That explains the release method...though its in patent/legalese language.

Re: Solidator Vat Release Patent
The FEP is pulled taught and sandwiched in place. There is constant air flow, in and out, so there is no pressure build up for inflating or deflating of the FEP surface. As for why there are no air bubbles, its very little air passing through, just enough to negate a vacuum. That's also why you don'...

Re: UV LEDs
Yes, using a pico you can get a very compact DLP machine. I plan on making a new machine with a back pack design kind of like the Solidator does, but I won't be going for as large of a print area. I would like to keep the X/Y resolution within 200 microns at the most. I'm going to try and see if I c...

So where are folks finding sources for UV LEDs to swap out in their LED based projectors?

Re: Solidator Vat Release Patent
FEP is an oxygen permeable membrane. Solidator uses a pocket of air between the FEP film and the glass window of the vat bottom, that pocket of air has a constant air flow from a compressor. No pressure build up, just constant air flow. Since FEP is oxygen permeable, air can pass through the membran...

Re: Top down wins...
Also in top down you have to keep the resin topped off at all times. So it's not just the build volume that you have to account for...its the volume and then the volume needed to maintain a topped of reservoir. But you maybe right, I think top down was written off in terms of cost, but now with affo...
