Re: Floating resin in Bottom Up setup
based on the data sheets provided, the density of the high viscosity silicone oil dpizzle posted would not work for this application. Density of silicone oil is 0.97 g/cm3 (http://www.clearcoproducts.com/pdf/msds/pure-silicone/MSDS-PSF_20,000,000cSt_Silicone_Fluid.pdf), while makerjuice resin is 1.1...

Re: My DLPrint3r / Germany
Finhead, I thought your printer no longer used a tilt or slide. With the pillow vat or flex bottom vat or whatever it's called, do you still need an active or passive tilt?

Re: Acetat membrane with a resin film recoater, eliminates v
If acetate works well as a release film it can be used as a cheap alternative in a vat design like the MiiCraft. I've also heard that LDPE works well in that setup. I'm mainly posting in the hopes that someone with a working setup can try. So far I've only experimented with top-down but would LOVE a...

Re: Foot in high heel - top down system
Thanks for the info so far!
Do you do anything special to handle displacement of the resin caused by the build platform?
Do you have any 'wiper' system/recoater blade for the meniscus?
Some images of your machine would be extremely helpful!

Optoma EP749
Hi! I'm hoping to start a build very soon and wanted to get an opinion on an Optoma EP749 projector I've found relatively cheap on craigslist. http://www.projectorcentral.com/Optoma-EP749.htm Any opinions on the projector? Seems like lumens and bulb wattage are comparable to others' builds. The cont...

Re: Foot in high heel - top down system
Do you have a build log or any additional info on your one-week-built printer? I'm in the process of designing my own top-down and would love to see other's successful examples!
Thanks!
