so there is no need for oxygen to go through this membrane then if you place it on a glass plate ?
that would be great.
when can we buy ?

Re: Any resins strong enough for engineering purpose ?
well you reassure me, thanks. As for the photosensitive resins in general, is there something inherent to the process that prevents people from developing some with a much higher resistance ? More plastic like behaviour rather than glassy ? As for SLS and PA12. Sintratec have printed parts with this...

Re: Any resins strong enough for engineering purpose ?
ok thanks, not sure i will order the Vorex resin then, and it's expensive. I truly hope there is some breakthrough on the resin side in the coming months/years, without that, there is not so much i can do with my printer really. In the meantime i hope my new SLS printer by Sintratec (http://sintrate...

Any resins strong enough for engineering purpose ?
Hi guys, been printing various parts these past 3 months with my new Titan1, I'v been printing with Funtodo Industrial Blend. Honestly, the only thing industrial in this resin is the name. Even FDM/PLA is stronger than this. The parts are so brittle, they cannot really withstand any flexural or tors...

Re: My new material for VAT
Great,
Do you know if it works due to the formation of a dead zone like Teflon AF ? or other principle ?

Cool,
when are you planning to expose many times at the same place on the film to see if it impacts the film transparency,
plans to sell this film ?

Re: Carbon 3D
holy crap, that's not cheap.
But i'm ready to contribute if someone wants to buy it and organize a properly detailed test.

Re: Carbon 3D
well, before experimenting we need to think a bit :-) from the article: “The Carbon3D machine uses an oxygen-permeable window to create a ‘dead zone’ (a thin layer of uncured resin between the window and the object). This dead zone guarantees the part can grow without stopping, and this is the key t...

Re: Carbon 3D
don't want to sound negative but i would think oxygen would migrate at best a few microns into the PDMS,
or if it does migrate more, it would do so very slowly and the oxygen needed in the dead zone would not be replenished fast enough.
I think.
