Re: Carbon 3D

I was talking about this technique on reddit and someone there brought up a great question that I can't answer, so I thought I'd pose it here. What keeps the dead zone a constant size? Wouldn't more oxygen diffuse through the membrane as time goes on, making the deadzone bigger as the print goes on?...

Re: Print problem

That the z axis goes the full way when manually controlling it indicates that there doesn't seem to be a firmware problem (since the firmware will keep you from going over the limits otherwise). Is the distance travelled accurate as well? As in, if you move it 10mm, does it actually move 10mm? You c...

Re: Print problem

Did you check that the Configure > Configure Machine > Build Size > Z Setting is correct in CW?

Can you go the full 20cm manually (by pressing the Z axis controls in CW) ?

Re: Projector characteristics

I don't think overlapping is the way to go. In a lot of cases, getting more brightness won't help your print, since it also means more bleed-through issues (Meaning layers below your current one get exposed as well and you get 'blurry' features on the side facing away from the projector). It depends...

Re: Print problem

What firmware are you using?

Sounds to me like your firmware is set to max z-height of 10mm, so it won't let you get beyond that. In Marlin that be the Z_MAX_POS setting in Configuration.h . Sounds like that is set to 10 for you.

Re: Projector characteristics

Yes resin curing time is proportional to the area.

You can use multiple beamers for twice the build area.

I remember seeing a commercial DLP printer that supported 2 projectors for 384x216mm build area, but can't find it anymore
