Re: Arduino code. Suggestions wanted???

Actually, even simpler. At first I just want to be able to control it in one direction. (e.g. take 5 paces up then Stop. I'll run that again and again manually- probably start at a higher number and get smaller as I get close to the end). Once I'm at the far end I'd work to figure out how many paces...

Re: Arduino code. Suggestions wanted???

Thanks for the link. I have downloaded the code and some of the examples but I'm really not skilled on the programming front. (I'm OK reading what others have done but my programming is as basic as can be). I've gone ahead and posted to the google forum for that group to see if anyone has any sugges...

Arduino code. Suggestions wanted???

I've managed to get my 4 pin CDROM stepper motor working with my driver (DRV8825) but I don't know much about Arduino coding. For now I am running some test code that shows it can travel in both directions. (It did take more than the 5v power we originally thought. We needed to go with 12V and trim ...

Re: Vat and Build Plate material

I know that this post is a bit dated but I'm currently on your trail and thought I'd both check and ask the group... I'm working on a super simple DIY SLA as a 1.0 version. I'm basing it on the CDROM drive example that's been buzzing about recently. I have a small glass vat but I can't seem to find ...

Re: Yet another cheap build - Need your help!

You are likely correct. :)

I did manage to find a drive with that screw drive stepper inside and 4 pins. I tested continuity and at least know which pair is which but that's about it. I'm not quite sure what the voltage or mA would be. Anyone out there have a good guess??

Re: Electronics basics (Need your help..)

I was considering running the motor off of the 5V line on the Arduino itself but I wasn't sure if there is some sort of issue with the fact that the same 5V+ line is attached to all the HIGH pins. I suppose that the 100uF coupling cap in the VMOT input would hopefully isolate that signal from anythi...

Re: Electronics basics (Need your help..)

I tried swapping out my power supply for a 9V battery but didn't get any movement in the motor at all. I'll have to check and see if the connections were even solid as it was getting late last night while I was doing my testing (never a good thing). If you think that the bi-polar motor can be driven...

Electronics basics (Need your help..)

Given that many folks out there may be starting from scratch like me I thought that I'd start a thread with some relatively basic questions I think others might come across as well. I have some electrical knowledge but that can be more dangerous than good when it comes to tinkering. I am attempting ...

Re: Yet another cheap build - Need your help!

I was planning on following this build which made use of the simple slde and rails.... http://www.buildyourownsla.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=2768 The DVD unit I broke down does have other motors I could utilize. The one you are refering to is the main spinning motor I believe. Mine says SSC16...

Yet another cheap build - Need your help!

Hi guys. I'm looking to start my own build but being that I have some questions that are CDROM related I thought that I'd post them here. I found an old DVD/RW drive I had sitting around (TDK 420N) and thought it could be a good host for my fist SLA trials. I've sourced some DRV8825 Drivers really c...
