Re: Top Down, Wiper needed?
The problem I face is that my LCD needs to be close to the resin for it to work right. I dont have a projection lens so I cant project the image onto the resin. I only have a few mm of space between the LCD and resin surface so using a wiper will be difficult. I hate to have to change the system to ...

Top Down, Wiper needed?
Hey all, After many many hours of testing my new bottom up LCD/LED based printer I have decided its just too much trouble dealing with part release from the VAT. I cannot get a successful complete print, part detaches from the build platform and this is with small parts and a FEP flex vat. I can onl...

Re: New Builder - LCD Based 3D Printer - Introduction
Hey Guys, sorry for the late reply. IMO there is no point in using color LCD's. The Green and Red color filters block all the light from the array. So 2/3's of your pixel will be black. This would probably leave holes in your print, or at least have some sort of screen door effect. That being said, ...

Re: top down with resin floating on water or ???
Im thinking of trying out a top down with floating resin for my LCD printer. Im just having too many issues with cured resin sticking to the vat on bottom up. I have a very large build area (400x300x300) and when printing large parts the sticking becomes very bad, I originally tried to stay away fro...

Re: Instead of a projector, would an LCD with UV backlight w
No, LCD will not pass any UV light, it blocks all light below 400nm. LCD can be used in 3d printing but with near uv sensitive resin, which most are. I am building an LCD printer with 410nm LED array, a simple backlight will not have enough power, you will lose 90% of the light as is passes through ...

Re: Flex bottom VAT
Ive got a similar vat, well on the 3rd one now. But suspended FEP tensioned. I find that as the build progresses and the resin gets warm/hot from the chemical reaction of curing the FEP expands and the VAT bottom droops. This is probably more of a problem for me since im using such a large vat, the ...

Re: Vat slide alternative
check this one out, I was able to see it in person and the prints are really nice for such a viscous resin (saturated with ceramics powder). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jfdcJlfUGxo http://www.lithoz.com Thats more of a wiper than a twist release, it looks like they are just lifting to release t...

I am thinking of trying this to stop my parts from detaching early from my build plate. I would be very interested to hear about your experience!

Re: New Builder - LCD Based 3D Printer - Introduction
I've watched this vid maybe a dozen of time, and still not obvious how this guy managed to get LCD cure the resin fast and reliable... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MS1t3tHsx9k It's definitely has a mod of UV light source. Anybody tried to contact him? Seen the video shortly after it came out.. He...

Re: Need Firmware Help (RAMPS 1.4)
No I couldnt use their profiles as Im using an LED array and some things needed to be added to control that. But, after looking at their profile, I see this line: <GCodeLift>;********** Lift Sequence ******** M651; Do mUVe 1 Peel Move G1 Z(($LayerThickness) * $ZDir) ;********** Lift Sequence *******...
