Re: Retina iPad Display

Thanks! I went through the front. Cutting along the border of the glass. http://www.kvistholm.se/Daylight-Resin I was unable to create a backlight that was even across. So I abandoned this ... How did you go about to remove the metal backing? I'd use a straight edge ruler w/ exacto knife/blade and g...

Re: Retina iPad Display

Well, seeing as no one has posted any photos before... I went ahead and started to take apart the iPad screen. Man, that initial metal backing is a PITA to remove! Seeing as I'm not 100% (not even 50%) sure on what I'm doing, I very well could have take too much apart on this screen, though in my d...

Re: Retina iPad Display

The original diffuser is more than enough , actually the diffuser is made of 5 sheets : reflective sheet / clear sheet (side diffuser for LED strips ) about 1mm thick/ then 3 layers of "pure" diffuser film . Thanks! I guess I will sacrifice on display and try for myself. Hope to cure the ...

Re: Retina iPad Display

Yes, in the past I removed the backlight to use my own UV LED array. Hi, I had good results with the normal backlight. http://www.kvistholm.se/Daylight-Resin I still might try to use a LED array though. Do you think that the original diffuse-sheet sufficient if you would make a LED-matrix like this...

Re: Retina iPad Display

Anderson, Can you cut the cable to the leds and still have the screen work? Yes, in the past I removed the backlight to use my own UV LED array. Re: Daylight (iPad) Printer

Any reason you have the base so tall? Are you planning to put an LED array under it? Yes, the (future) plan is to have a LED-array. But still it's a bit tall nevertheless. Btw. I found this great way of making a LED-array from LED-strips. Fortunately I already own 5 m UV-LED strips. https://youtu.b...

Re: Daylight Polymer 3D Printer

I will start a new thread for my daylight printer soon. The CAD is almost completed and I sourced the most critical components. Will link to that thread soon. PS. I would like to see a simple / offordable background led matrix for the iPad display. But for now I will use the stock one. PS. @dragokir...

Re: Daylight Polymer 3D Printer

Thanks dpizzle, I went through the manual and figured it out.
It needed a brightness-change (yellow mode, fast clicks).
This made the flickering go away.

This solved the issue I had with the one I thought was broken

Where the screens brig...
