Re: Super Fast ‘Membrane Based’ 3D

To try But it's the total UV radiation that generates the cloudiness. So if you manage to print faster because less up and down motion, the total exposure time of your part should not change dramatically, so the total UV that your PDMS sees is about the same, I think. Edit: not sure anymore what i'm...

Re: Super Fast ‘Membrane Based’ 3D

Sid, where did you get the connection with the titanium dioxide ? Maybe it has potential.

Re: PDMS, the Titan1 I'm using has a PDMS base with a FEP film on top. People have tried printing on PDMS directly, it works but become cloudy quickly.

Re: Super Fast ‘Membrane Based’ 3D

i'll be talking completely out of my ass here: photosensitive resins contain HO groups normally (I think) TiO2 film when exposed to UV can carry hydrolysis If it can carry hydrolysis then it might be able to break these HO bounds Oxygen is freed up and inhibits curing = magic dead zone voilà patent ...

Re: Super Fast ‘Membrane Based’ 3D

i am no way a chemist, but maybe a hint here about titanium dioxide ? from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Titanium_dioxide#Photocatalyst Titanium dioxide, particularly in the anatase form, is a photocatalyst under ultraviolet (UV) light. .... Titanium dioxide, in thin film and nanoparticle form has p...

Re: Carbon 3D

Well tell them to focus their projectors at just below the surface and they can get this CLIP effect for free. ;) .... Do you mean by this the resin cures only on the focus plane ? and not above and below ? The resin above and below focus plane still receives UV photons even though the image is not...
