Re: First prints! Starting to print.

The build plate needs to sit as far in the resin as possible- touching the bottom of the resin petri dish.

You should be able to see the metal build plate through the bottom of the petri (by looking into the mirror). Does that help?

Re: First prints! Starting to print.

What do you mean calibrating the Z axis? You just want to mash the build plate all the way down to the bottom of the resin plate. With resin in the tank, adjust the screws until it's evenly pushed out over the whole build plate. If you see resin under one area of the plate, loosen the screw(s) on th...

Re: acer h6510bd serial commands - SOLVED

I was looking at the serial connection with a serial port monitor and it looks like it doesn't even try to send the command. Not sure what's going on, but I can try other debugging steps if you can suggest them. I'm not meaning for you to do all the work for me :)

Re: acer h6510bd serial commands - SOLVED

I'm having a strange issue with my setup- H6510BD with a Prolific USB to Serial controller. It seems like I can only send a few commands (one or two), then the projector stops taking more commands. I'm using the manual control to send the ACER_ON and ACER_OFF commands. I've tried doing some disconne...

Re: Peachy Printer Style Vat

Search around for people using salt water. I think it's (somewhat) common.

Re: Best resin for miniatures

SF isn't really "flexible" per se, I'd guess it's just about as "flexible" as your standard plastic minis. It's still quite stiff, just not brittle. You may be a lot rougher on your minis than I am though :)

Re: Best resin for miniatures

I made a few minis with Makerjuice SF, which has a bit of give to it (SF stands for Snap Fit, I think). It seems OK so far, but I'm not very rough on them.

Re: Print Fails with MakerJuice: Why?

It looks like you have some pretty large cross sections. You may need to hollow out your models more. Also, try adding a raft to the bottom of your model to give it a larger surface area to adhere to the build plate. I'd also try increasing your cure times; try out the calibration pieces and see how...

Re: Flexible glass

OK newbie question- this looks like it flexes readily in sort of one direction at a time, unlike other flex vat materials which look like they can stretch pretty well. How would you go about implementing this? Would you be able to adequately seal the edges with some type of film or something?
