Re: cheapest resin
Craig, do you have yellow or just clear, black, and red? I saw some prints on your site that were yellow. Did they add their own pigment?

Iron Man MK-42 helmet - 1/2 scale
Here is something I printed last night. Took about 5 hours to print. Using a new formulation from MakerJuice. It had some strange holes develop on one side, not sure why they didn't appear on the other side or anywhere else because the walls are the same thickness throughout. The walls are very thin...

Re: Resin Suppliers
Yes, it's more expensive for sure. I got my liter for 75.00 as a reward on Indigogo. I won't pay 100.00 unless this stuff has no noticeable shrinkage. It's all about shrinkage at this point. The best and most dimensionally stable resin will win the day! I've seen too many Eiffel Towers with warped f...

Re: Resin Suppliers

I was a supporter when they were on Indigogo a few months back. Just received my first liter and will be testing this coming week - hopefully when the garage warms up a bit.

Re: What resins have you tried?
I've tried all the Makerjuice varieties and even a new formula that's supposed to have the best non-shrinkage of all the Makerjuice formulations. I just made one object so far so I don't have anything to report just yet. I wanted to get the exposure set before I do any size tests. It's only about 50...

Re: DLP printer Build
I think there is no need to worry about the vat. It looks like it will be supported just fine. There should not be a downward pressure on the vat anyway during a build, only upward when the part releases. If anything, I would add another fastening plate to the sides or top of the vat mount extrusion...

Re: Generic Sylgard Substitute $37.00 at Amazon
Is the entire vat glass or just the bottom? If it's just the bottom, how do you get a thick layer of PDMS on the glass, what do you have on the sides to contain while baking? Curious.
