Re: Not enough holding power for z axis?
Hrmm thanks..makes sense. What motor driver do you recommend for that motor? I think its out of the voltage range for the pololu Also, how does the brake get connected to ramps? And how to control it in CW? Vexta Stepper two phases C9936-9212K DC2, 8 V 2 A phase 1.8 degrees Shinko brake 24 V 4 W Typ...

Not enough holding power for z axis?
Hi all, I'm putting together a monster top down dlp and have run into a problem with my z axis. The z travel is 13", carriage is much heavier than normal and the motor it came with was nema 23 with an e brake. I've tried running it with the NEMA 17 motor + RAMPS I was previously using for my sm...

Laser engraving for super fast 3d prints
Guys....I saw this and thought..is there a way to adapt this to cure resin?
It would cut out a ton of time and complexity

Re: My Top Down wood 3D DLP printer
Amazing build...looks like it's ready for production!
I'm impressed with how flat the baseplate stayed..
whats your dwell time/ cure time / Z height?
Best,
Vaughan

Re: Why NOT use saltwater?
I have a top down, been using resin over saltwater.
Do it. It works. I've left it sitting for months now with no problems. No need to clean out the vat. Water is still clear after all this time. You can stir the resin if it needs and the liquids will still separate after if you wait.

Re: Bulging effect on top down DlP printer.
Just by eye..mainly things that are straight in the model are now straight (which were bulging before) Since I'm doing prints overnight, I just set maximum dwell that could fit in 8 hours. I tried 15 s actually and was still getting some bulge, but not as much. It all depends on how viscous your res...

Feature Request: Stroke slice for thin walls
Hi all, I've been thinking about the problem of thin walls on complex models lately. It might make more sense to do the wall thickening after slicing vs trying to do it in the 3D geometry. For example Take a slice and select the white areas STROKE_1.jpg Then stroke the selection, towards the inside,...
