Re: Wiper System?
It's not the resin which you want to expose to air, it's the air which is temporary exposed to the PDMS.
So the PDMS layer will be refreshed.
That's why I believe in this method.
Hopefully next week, I start to build this myself also.

Re: Wiper System?
The ProJet® 1500 from 3D-systems also uses a wiper for their bottom-up system. After each exposure, a small 'windscreen' wiper removes the resin & the vat will be filled again by a new thin resin layer by an (expensive) cartridge. (I'm not sure if all the wiped resin is waste or not.) Szzer also...

Re: An other DIY SLA DLP printer
Finally able to print something :) I'm still using the PDMS coating on the glass, which was flooded for some weeks with resin. Nice example of FDM (left) versus DLP, both objects 25mm tall: http://www.khwelling.nl/3d/pic/3d.dlp_tst62_print_FDM_versus_DLP.png And of course the first Eiffel Tower: htt...

Re: Possible pdms vat refresh method
Hi HTL, Thanks for sharing your thoughts & experiments about this subject. I also read your yahoo post: https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/diy_3d_printing_and_fabrication/conversations/topics/9297 . This is also the reason, why I started a post for creating a list of vat-solutions, which might ...

Re: Vat slide alternative
I also agree with Leinad78. I've build a tilting mechanism (which was fun to do), but currently I'm not using this at all. (Which speeds up the printing process a little.) Downside, I'm also not happy with my current prints, but I doubt if the tilting mechanism will be really helpful or not. I proba...
