Re: Resin Features & Properties Wish List
Yes, the whole issue of mechanical adhesion and having good adhesion to high surface energy materials (like painted aluminum) but low adhesion to low surface energy materials (like teflon) is a complicated one. The resin that I have found to have the best ratio is 3D-Materials ABS resin. Its ratio i...

Re: Resin Features & Properties Wish List
I think the ratio of build plate adhesion to vat adhesion is probably the #1 unaddressed issue today, despite the large number of resins out on the market. If you scan printer vendor sites across the board ranging from laser based systems like Form1 to DLP systems like B9 or Kudo3D, you'll see a lot...

Re: Resin Features & Properties Wish List
Roughly speaking, there are two main families of vats today, those that use PDMS (silicone) as the vat floor, and those that use FEP (teflon film) on the vat floor. For a bottom-up printer, probably the most important feature for a resin is that it stick strongly to the build plate (usually aluminum...

Re: nanoDLP - Raspberry Pi DLP Host Software
Hi Shahin, I finally got around to installing nanoDLP build 947 and getting it hooked up with my printer, which is a Kudo3D Titan 1 printer that is a bottom-up Marlin based firmware with no shutter, tilt motor, or other moving parts besides a Z axis. Projector control and display is working fine, no...

Re: Synthesizing Resin
Nice work! I'm glad that you tried iron oxide, I have some that I haven't used yet. I was concerned that iron oxide is an oxidizer and could trigger polymerization, it's good to see that it's usable. I've tried quite a lot of pigments, the easiest to use so far has been pre-mixed pigment paste from ...

Re: printing with clear
I suggest you try Autodesk PR48 if you want to print clear in a DLP printer. Venus, FSL, and unpigmented FTD all have significant light bleed when printing clear. PR48, on the other hand, is amazing. Most clear resins end up looking like the left and right sample, where the supports become a solid b...

Re: nanoDLP - Raspberry Pi DLP Host Software
Yeah, I think the issue of doing automated surface area analysis is a separate issue. I plan to prototype this as a standalone app that outputs layer settings to test this, so no need to integrate this into a host controller at the moment until I figure out some rudimentary methods and have code. I ...

Re: nanoDLP - Raspberry Pi DLP Host Software
Also, for wiring a stepper, I presume that you need a separate power supply to drive the stepper? Do you have an example of the full set of components and wiring that you use for your setup?

Re: nanoDLP - Raspberry Pi DLP Host Software
With the Kudo3D Titan 1 printer (that uses a modified version of ProjectLayer), I generally use 4-5 regions currently, generally for: Attachment layer, just 1 or 2 layers at the beginning for attaching the print to the build plate, usually extremely long cure like 60-120 seconds Support/Foundation L...

Re: nanoDLP - Raspberry Pi DLP Host Software
Nice! Do you have a way of setting lift speed and height between layers similar to the layer-by-layer specs in ProjectLayer?
