Re: LCD Projector
I read a paper which claimed only about 12% of 400nm light when through a color lcd. So your 100w light just became 12w or so, which is another way of saying you are wasting a lot of energy. It is being reflected away or absorbed into the lcd, causing damage and eventual failure of the LCD. Read up ...

Re: Aspect Ratio Changing Mid Print
I would assume you've thrown out obvious stuff, like a focusing lens getting knocked around at that point. Have you looked at the slices to make sure it wasn't actually perfectly duplicating a poor set of slices?

Re: Will this LCD screen work? Philips 193V5LSB2
Most likely not. You need an LED light source such as in a high powered flashlight, but geared toward ~400nm rather than white light. Totally different than the LEDs in the philips you linked to. A better choice is to go with a dlp projector that has cheap, available bulbs.

Re: projector mounted horizontally (w/ mirror) vs vertically
I just looked up on another website and it says a decent aluminum mirror coating will reflect 85-97% of the light. These can be expensive and/or difficult to acquire. Plus, it is just one more thing to purchase that is really optional? The suggestion seems to be that it will be about the same as lon...

Re: UV-LCD pico projector
It seems to be a problem of scale. I found a few of those but nothing under $1000, which means it is quite a bit cheaper to purchase a 1080p dlp projector and rip it apart as needed. Does 0.3 mean the dlp chip is 0.3inches? They mention degradation of the chip due to lower wavelengths of energy. I w...

Re: LCD Based 3D Printer - Introduction
http://www.ledgroupbuy.com/exotic-true-violet-led-410nm/ These are the LEDs I purchased. I also have a 7.9in retina screen (2048x1536 ipad mini) in a win8 tablet, but haven't ripped it open yet. I just haven't had time to work on it in the last few weeks and more and more is leading me to think it i...

Re: InFocus LP280
http://www.projectorcentral.com/InFocus-LP280.htm This place lists it as 800x600 native, which isn't the best and will limit either your size or your resolution, or both. The real problem is that it is an LCD projector, which means the light must pass through the tiny LCD, and this blocks a ton of t...

Here are a few more. I also couldn't figure out much online about the LEDs if anyone has any ideas.

Dell M109S LED projector
So I found two of these online for cheap, one working and one broken. I thought someone might be interested in a few photos of what is inside, so I ripped open the 'broken" one to see what all I can find. The DLP chip is supposed to be 858x600, which isn't the greatest. It looks to have a blue,...

Re: 2056x1536 not an "available display" for 7.9in LCD
Ok, just a bit more information to add. I have a lenovo yoga 2 pro with a 3800x1800 13.3in screen. I've attached a screenshot of the available display section when I have the monitor at the standard resolution. It shows up as 1439x819 in creation workshop. The only thing that stands out to me is tha...
