Re: Mask

Rhino picks the surface closest to the camera as white and the furthest as black. If you look in the screen shot you can see that I added a plane on the XY plane. By moving this plane towards our away from the surface you can control the amount of gradient on the constructed surface. I also made the...

Re: A couple questions

To get an idea of resolution just divide the area by the resolution. A 1024x768 projector can print an area 10.24mm x 7.68mm at .1mm XY resolution

Re: Mask

Not going to lie, that's all way over my head.... My current plan is make a png file of white dots on a grid and take sensor readings from that. I'll then input those as a point cloud in Rhino and use the "Patch" command to make a surface from them. I'll then take the surface and use the &...

Re: Mask

I'm going with a slightly cheap solution (attempted) with an arduino and a UV sensor.

As to going from XYZ (Z being the sensor reading) to a grayscale mask, well I've got a few days until my sensor arrives.... Happy for anyone here to chime in with ideas.

Re: Mask

I think I'm going to skip the camera method and go for a UV sensor based method. Should have the parts in a few days and will update

Re: Hardware and Firmware setup

You don't have to use ramps but you will need some type of stepper driver to add to an arduino board to make it work. I personally went for Ramps and it wasn't really that expensive, it's fairly clean as it sits on top of the arduino mega board. and was easy to setup with the available firmwares (I ...
