Re: UV filter removal?

Just relocating the color wheel dropped my exposure time from 9sec to 3 sec at 50 micron z layer (WaxCast) and to 1.5sec at 30 micron z. Unfortunately, you cannot remove the wheel...it has to still spin freely or the projector will not work. I haven't found it necessary to remove the filter. I did a...

Re: UV filter removal?

I relocated the colorwheel from my PJD7820HD. I think that the filter in front of the bulb is also an IR filter and needs to be there for heat reasons.

Re: Resins For Investment Casting

Just thought I would add to my previous findings about Waxcast. The lines in the casting are from overcuring the waxcast resin. Apparently it is more sensitive than some of the other casting resins. I dropped my exposure time from 9sec at 50micron to 3.5sec at 50 microns and the prints are smoother.

Re: Resins For Investment Casting

Thanks!
Yeah, those are layers printer horizontally at 50micron Z so there might be some banding on the closeup.
I will probably drop down to 25-30 micron.

Re: Resins For Investment Casting

WaxCast seems to be casting very well. I am still adjusting coming from the B9 resins insofar as temps and curing. However, following the Waxcast docs for casting gives a very good baseline so far.

Re: Resins For Investment Casting

I am just in the printing phase, however, on the jewelry cad forum that I frequent, people are having great results.
I currently use B9 cherry/B9 Red and am just switching over.
I will post the casting results in a few days to really compare the differences if any.

Re: New Creation Workshop RPi Host

I just got Creation Workshop RPi Host working for my mUVe 1.5 printer! Seems to be doing just fine. I don't understand the calibration setting for the projector though. In CW it has an x,y measurement.

In this, it just says Pixels. Anyway, so far so good!

Re: Vivitek for B9 cherry

I have tried working with B9 Cherry, and it is designed for less than 50 microns...and really nearer to 25-30 micron. I think you might find the B9 cherry very very difficult if at all to cure at 100 micron slices. Might want to try the B9 Red which is designed to cure between 50-100 micron or mix t...

Re: All in one

This is a very interesting design! Sometimes great genius lies in the simplicity of the solution.
