Re: Problems with the FEP Vat..

Thanks HTL for your concise write up. Z is the squashed plane not x,y my bad. I am still processing the info, but I am sure I will get it figured out. Great job on the FEP vat by the way.

Re: Problems with the FEP Vat..

I thought the build plate determined the size? Now I am confused.. Anyway x,y is squashed. I guess the question is, when using the FEP vat what needs to be calibrated since the vat floor sits up higher than the petri. How do you determine this?

Problems with the FEP Vat..

My prints, they print out squashed, like by around 15%, using the FEP Vat. Using the Petri they print out perfect. I did not change the build size. I don't understand what in the world could be happening. Anyone else have this happening? Any ideas?

Re: Sucessful CastSolid print and Metal Cast..

What I have found out is that the models can only be left in the IPA for about 10 seconds or so and washed off with water for about 5 seconds, even 30 seconds in the IPA is to long. When the model is dried off, I immediately put it under the UV nail dryer, I have been leaving models under the UV nai...

Sucessful CastSolid print and Metal Cast..

Here are a couple pictures of my latest metal cast from the MadeSolid .. CastSolid resin. I had a couple of unsuccessful attempts at making a decent metal cast until I found a formula for the investment. Here is the formula I used from the MJSA website.. http://www.mjsa.org/publicationsmedia/tech_sh...

Re: Cleaning and Postcuring of CastSolid

After trying several different cleaning times it has become evident that this is a very sensitive detail and the Madesolid website does not amply address this problem. What I have found out is that the models can only be left in the IPA for about 10 seconds or so and washed off with water for about ...

Re: Pictures of printed models with CastSolid

I am still trying to play with the CastSolid, but the B9 Casting Resin looks very promising! Thanks for sharing!
